So, I've written paragraphs for about 12 friends of mine, because I was afraid of hurting people's feelings so I just kept adding friends here and there. With that said, I apologize if you aren't on here, that definetly doesn't mean we aren't friends. Anyway, my friends are possibly my favorite thing in the world. They're amazing people and I honestly have no idea what I would do without them.
Delaney is my very best friend. She has been my best friend since pre-school. Even when I wasn’t her best friend at the time, she was mine. And when she wasn’t my best friend, I was hers. Our little sisters are in fifth grade and basically live with each other. Our sisters are literally the definition of best friends. They FaceTime each other almost everyday for literally no reason except for that they just want to talk to each other. We've picked up that habit this year too. Our families are together so often I personally feel like we’re just one big family sometimes. I love my best friend with all of me and hope to never lose her.
Olivia moved here last year, but I didn’t know her until this year. I didn’t know she went to our school in seventh grade because I guess we never had any classes together, but she later informed me that she moved to our school on February 1, 2016. I really would’ve loved to have had classes with her last year so that I could’ve gotten to know her sooner and developed an even better friendship with her by now. We do track together, and we hang out the most, probably because the rest of our friends do academic team and can’t make it to a few practices. She’s a really good runner too! I would kill to be as good in sprints as she is. She also always has my back when I forget anything for track or for school, and I try my best to be the same way to her. She gets so happy about some things that most people wouldn’t look at twice and I love that so much about her!
Jaden is my ‘gurl’ and I wouldn’t trade him for anyone else!! Jaden is always there for me no matter what. He always comes and talks to me whenever he gets the chance and I love it. We hang out all of the time and it’s honestly great. He even texted to me probably about half of the time that he was in Florida, on the beach, in the car, playing cards, or on a stop from a long bike ride. Jaden’s the best to teach me cool card tricks to mess with people’s heads, help me with my math homework that it takes me ages to comprehend, teach me actual card games because I really only know kemps and bs, explain to me why people are laughing because I can be a bit slow sometimes, or simply just up my confidence to a whole new level if I’m having a bad day.
The Sloth Running Team is actually what I live for. With five of my best friends, it's amazing and I'm not at all sure what I would do without it. We hang out all the time, at practices, meets, each others' houses, on bus rides and more. I will tell you right now that I have never in my life cheered someone on louder than when I watch them run their events. I'm the one who gets more nervous than them for their races and the one who gets more excited than them when they P.R. I really hope that we're always on this team.
Jake didn’t really become a legitimate friend of mine until probably this summer. I didn’t really think he thought of me as his friend until he invited me to the first ever ‘nerd squad’ party at his house. I was so excited I remember planning my outfit the day before and then changing it the next day and then I ended up forgetting my swimsuit because I was stressing about everything little that I was worried about! Anyway, I text Jake or say something to him about the most random things and then have like a five minute, very random conversation with him about it, then begin the cycle again a day later. From calling him cancer (because he misunderstood that is his zodiac sign and we weren’t originally saying it as an insult) to going over to his house for ‘nerd squad’ parties, Jake’s an incredible person and I always love being around him. (P.S. Please donate/don't actually to Jake's fund for a lego Stephen Hawking.
Jack is one of my best friends, and he's a great guy. We hang out sometimes in track because we’re the only two from our 'sloth team' who run distance. I mean he runs, I walk with a bounce. It’s fun though to cheer each other on when we’re doing 800’s, 1600’s, 2400's, relays, etc. He’s aa amazing runner, I strive to be half as good as he is. Along with being a great runner, Jack is a great person in general too. One of my favorite examples is when the group was in a fight over something stupid and he typed out a very long message about how it doesn’t matter, and we’re all friends, and we wouldn’t want to lose each other, and signed it “Sincerely, Jack Douglas Mitchell (you can call me Doug)”.
Anthony is an awesome person!! We started being friends this year, as I have with most of my great friends. He's an awesome guy and is also very nice. He's a great person to talk to whenever too! Whenever he texts me, we can end up having a good conversation about anything that comes up. He's really funny and smart and is an overall awesome friend! He's even pretty good at ping-pong on the wii!! *insert laughing emoji here* Anthony is great and I really enjoy having a lot of classes with him and being able to call him a friend!
Zach is yet another friend I gained in my eighth grade year. We don't talk as much as I talk to some other friends, but he's an awesome person. Though we don't talk as much, I still like to talk to him at school when I get the chance. From sending hilarious Adam Sandler tweets to our group chats, to teaching me that Aloha can be used in place of both hello and goodbye and that adios can also be used for goodbye, Zach is an overall awesome friend and hilarious guy!
Syd and I became close friends this year through cheer. We had never really talked much before hand, but once I got to know her, she was great. Syd is definitely a very loving, caring, and hilarious person. She speaks her mind a lot too, which I love. Trying out for high school cheer with her and then having her over afterwards to practice was a lot of fun too. It would be I think the third or fourth time she's stayed over since like November. She's a really fun to be around, and she's also really caring, more than a lot of people. I remember during basketball cheer, she and I would always move around so we coud stand and cheer next to each other. At one game, something had happened and I was a bit upset. I did however try my best not to show it because it was cheer and cheerleaders are supposed to be happy. She, being the great friend she was and still is, noticed and asked me about it. When I told her it was nothing, she wasn't one of the annoying people that relentlessly asks about it, but she made sure to let me know she was there if I needed her. I ended up telling her after the game and she ended up making me feel a lot better. Syd is a great girl and a great friend.
Emily and I have been friends since fifth grade. We were like super close that year and we were 'besties for the resties'. She has a lot of talent in many different 'fields'. She's a grea singer, actress. trumpet player, she's super smart, and she's definitely great at being an awesome friend overall. Though since fifth grade we haven't ever been as close, it was hard to beat, we've still been close friends in the past three years. Em is an awesome girl with a lot of friends and I don't for a minute ever want to lose her. I love to go support her when she's playing or acting or anything else, and I know she would do the exact same for me!
Alley moved to IC in seventh grade. We never talked at all until eigth grade. I actually couldn't tell you when we started being friends because I don't remember, so I have no idea. I know we didn't do any sports together or anything like that, so I think it was probably that we had so many classes together. This year we have periods one through six and eight together.
Ashley and I were what I would call "acquaintances" in sixth grade and the beginning of seventh. By that, I mean we knew each other and I thought she was a nice girl (though I can't say that I know she thought the same of me because who knows) but I never made an extra effort to talk to her. During I think second semester of seventh grade though, we both had art together. That semester was very fun because it was when I got to know her and actually became her friend. This year we decided to try out for football cheer together and it brought us even closer. I wouldn't trade the expirience of football cheer with Ash for anything.
I hope that these paragraphs about my friends helps you realize that I love each of them so much. I’ve figured out that I’m probably the clingy friend but I’m honestly okay with that because it lets them know how much they mean to me. Delaney is actually probably the only one of these five friends that really knows how much I love her and care about her and actually honestly now that I type that out and see it in words I’ll tell you right now even she doesn’t know. I wish that my friends could know how much I care about them and that I probably could’ve written a whole novel about the great qualities in all of them. Each of them is such an amazing person and I’m so, so incredibly fortunate to have the gift of having them in my life. These are my best friends.
