This my first year of track and I love it so much. I'm really loving the whole 'running until you feel like death' thing for the most part. I started running with distance, because it was what a friend told me I would be best at, and I can't imagine running anything else. 1600's and 2400's are currently my favorite events, even if I don't place. I really enjoy the sport in itself and the fact that I get to experience it with the amazing people that I do just makes it even better. This is by far one of my favorite sports that I've ever 'attempted'. I love that I enjoy it so much because I'm much better at it than I am at other sports I've tried (and failed) at.
This year I tried out for and made the basketball and football cheer squads. I cheered with some very amazing girls and cheered for some awesome guys and I wouldn't trade the experience for the world. I loved growing close to people I normally wouldn't be with, and getting to know them so much better than you would think. They're so, so great and I'm incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to spend so much time with them. During those two seasons, my team became my family. Though we don't anymore talk as much as we did, I still love them and spend time with them. I recently made high school cheer though, with most of the same girls, and I hope to enjoy this season as much as I did last.
This was my fourth year of tennis, but I changed it up a bit. This year I managed the team alongside a friend, instead of being on the court playing. I still loved cheering on some great people on that team and I definitely miss it. I had been excited to try football cheer but I couldn't do both cheer and tennis. Since I hadn't done any other school sports besides tennis by my eighth grade year, I went with cheer. I still went to every practice and match that I could and managed. By managing, what we did was record scores, give pep talks when Mr. Davis couldn't, and just simple things. I absolutely loved it.
